Eel Ground Elementary Grows With Nutrients For Life

I have had the tremendous opportunity to work with the fantastic staff at Eel Ground Elementary since I started with Nutrients for Life in 2014. They are dedicated to teaching their students on how food gets to their plates everyday! Helen Bernard- Ward and all of her staff have been excellent to work with and have always welcomed me into their school. I was invited to meet with all of the classes on May 25 to talk about soil, and how it is important to our lives each and everyday, since we are celebrating International Year of Soils. It was a great day to meet all of the students from k-8 and participate in some fun activities. I hope that they now think of soil in a much different way than before. I was invited back on June 17 for their formal opening of their brand new school, now called, Natoaganeg School. This was year 2 of their raised garden beds at the school, and they increased the number of boxes to 10, and were even able to add a greenhouse. They were anxious to get planting when the festivities of the opening were over. I look forward to working with Helen, the staff and students of Naoaganeg School this fall!
