On the beautiful Island of PEI, there is a tremendously dedicated teacher, Denis Morais, who wants to engage his students at Ecole Pierre Chiasson in Deblois PEI. He is truly dedicated to teaching the small Acadian School about how to grow their own food. He is incorporating not only his science class for his grade 4’s, but math and also teaching them responsibility and nurturing. He hopes to expand their garden in the years to come and get the community and school families involved. It was a pleasure to meet him and his students when I visited in May! They have a vast school yard that has plenty of room to expand! For any student passing through his class, they will certainly feed off of his enthusiasm and learn so much about growing their own food!
