2019 Scotts Canada Youth Gardener Award Winner

Scotts Canada in partnership with NFL Canada is pleased to announce this year’s winner of the Scotts Canada Youth Gardener Award, Liam van de Sande of St. Andrew Junior School in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Liam is a grade 5 student nominated by a school staff member because of his leadership role in and around the school to help keep it welcoming and green. Liam has demonstrated his enthusiasm for gardening and the school’s foyer is now welcoming and warm because of Liam’s hard work. Liam also participates in many green initiatives like recycling, cleaning and organizing to keep the school of over 550 students look the best that it can. Liam can be found volunteering his time in and around the school and his passion for gardening is evident in the many gardening areas at the school. NFL Canada and Scotts Canada are proud of Liam and all his hard work and dedication to make SAJS a better place to grow and learn! Thank you to Scotts Canada for partnering with NFL Canada to provide this award to Liam.

A note of about the award:

Scotts Canada, an affiliate of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, sponsors the Scotts Canada Youth Gardener Award.

This award recognizes a student, ages 6-18 that has demonstrated leadership in environmental awareness and is using gardening to improve their school environment, or community.

The Scotts CanadaYouth Gardener Award will be awarded to a student from a school or youth group that has been a recipient of a Nutrients for Life School Learning Garden Grant. The winner will receive a certificate and gardening-related materials and be highlighted on the Nutrients for Life website and in their social media relations.
