Please describe your garden, is it raised beds, in the ground, do you have a greenhouse?
St. Cecilia school received $500 to start a garden. We used the money to create an indoor garden by purchasing an indoor greenhouse, building a hydroponic system, and purchasing grow lights. Over 5 classes participated in the garden by either, gardening, building, or planting. That is a total of 132 students and 64 females. We grew lettuce, and peppers in our garden this year. Next year, we plan to expand our garden and plant items using food waste and the ends of vegetables from our foods class. Without the grant, none of this would have happened and we wouldn't be able to have a garden year-round indoors.
