Please describe your garden, is it raised beds, in the ground, do you have a greenhouse?
Our students were the main driving force in all aspects of this project. The students designed, built, planted, and maintained our hydroponics garden. We used the project to make the ideas and concepts we explore in the classroom meaningful and purposeful. The largest impact on student learning was the real world connection that it brought into our classroom. We used these connections to study science concepts(plant growth), math concepts(budgeting), as well as health and many other concepts and ideas.
What are your future plans for the school garden?
Students throughout the school have access to plant, maintain, and harvest our edible hydroponics garden.
