NFL partnered with the Soil Conservation Council of Canada to promote soil health and their campaign to raise awareness with their campaign. NFL held a contest for all NFL funded school gardens across the country. The foundation shipped over 40 pairs of underwear to over 35 NFL funded school gardens during National Soil Conservation Week (3rd week of April). The underwear needed to be buried for a maximum of 10 weeks, to gauge the school gardens soil health. The winning school garden was Lacombe Composite School, Lacombe Alberta. Congratulations!
There were a few honorable mentions, West Kent Elementary, Charlottetown PE, Churchbridge Public School, Churchbridge SK, Waterford Valley High School, St.John’s NL,Ecole Pierre Chiasson, Deblois PE. Thanks to all of the schools who participated.
