How can students get involved?
From educational resources to interactive games, Nutrients for Life is dedicated to helping educate students on the important topics of soil science, plant nutrients, agriculture and horticulture. With a variety of easily understandable lessons, students can get a better understanding of what it will take to work towards a sustainable and green future. For our educational resources, click here.
Additionally, Nutrients for Life has also created the School Garden Network which serves as a catalyst to encourage students and teachers to help set up gardens in their schools and their own homes. The website acts as a clearinghouse for information on school gardens, best practices, links to curriculum and expert advice about the mechanics of building and maintaining a school garden. Get involved and encourage your teachers to start a school garden at your school, for more information visit www.schoolgardennetwork.ca.
Interactive Games/Lessons
IPNI Academy
We encourage students to join the IPNI Academy, where they will be able to play interactive games on plant nutrients and much more!
To take part in the fun and have access to IPNI's interactive games, visit http://www.ipni.net/academy/homepage.html.
Humanity Against Hunger Web Module
In the Humanity Against Hunger web module, students become volunteers to help solve the severe food shortage faced in Africa. Through the interactive experience, students learn how nitrogen, potassium and phosphorous deficiencies can stunt plant growth in different ways. They also learn how replenishing the land with fertilizer can help farmers achieve higher yields of crops to feed more people.
